Comments:- Claude Vincent TANCRED (2/x)*Port Elizabeth 21.12.1870 .† Pretoria 23.05.1896 # Begrawe in Kerk Straat begraafplaas. Pretoria. (Buried in Church Street Cemetry, Pretoria) Hy was 18 jaar oud, en ‘n baie goeie atleet in St ‘Aidan’s College’, Grahamstown, toe hy witseerkeel gekry het, en as gevolg daarvan bloed vergiftiging in sy linker been gekry en hulle moes dit af sit in Port Elizabeth Hospitaal. Hy het by sy ouers in Kimberley aangesterk. (He was about 18 years old, and a promising young athlete at St Aidan’s, Grahamstown, when he got diphtheria, and as a direct result from this got blood poisoning in his left leg, which had to be amputated in Port Elizabeth Hospital.
